Fabulous Folsom Part III

When the Folsom Powerhouse was in operation, water from the river entered large pipes.  These pipes were called penstocks and had been built in Pennsylvania.



The water rushed through the pipes, falling nearly 60 feet to the turbines.



As the water flowed through the turbines, the shafts of the generators spun, creating electricity.



Hydroelectric power is totally awesome.





I sat on the stone wall outside before heading to the machine shop.





What an awesome START button; it's the same color as my cool green shirt!  Do you have any cool green shirts?

Inside the Folsom Powerhouse was the awesome, huge machinery:

My big friend rapidly turned the crank handle and the spiffy lights lit up. 

Fabulous Folsom Part I

My big friends and I went to Folsom Powerhouse State Historic Park.



We scrounged up five dollars worth of coins for the parking fee since none of us had any one- or five-dollar bills.



The powerhouse utilized water power from the awesome American River to produce electricity.



It operated from 1895 to 1952 and provided electricity for Sacramento, which previously had relied soley on steam power for its electricity.

One of my big friends signed me in since the pen was so big for me.  But she forgot the exclamation mark at the end of "It rocks" so I added that myself.  Awesome!

ABC = Awesome Belgian Chocolates

Guylian Belgian chocolates are awesome.



The delicious filling is made with chocolate and hazelnuts.



And look at the awesome shapes!





A shrimp-like creature.  Quite heavy for a little man to hold.  Oof.



And a seahorse.



See the twinkle in my black eye?  The chocolates are that good!

To infinity and beyond

I can hold the moon...



...and the stars...



...all in my mighty green little man hands!



And yes, indeed, the moon is made with cheese!



Wahoooo!  Tumbling through space (shapes).  Oh, and fish.



They were quite tasty and awesome!

A grand day out Part III

I visited the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.





And the Civil War Memorial.





It would be totally awesome if big people learned how to get along.
