O Canada!

O Canada!  My big friends and I had an awesome trip to Canada!



Our first stop was Capilano Suspension Bridge Park in Vancouver, British Columbia.



Standing next to some story poles and First Nations peeps.



Where to go?  Hmm.  Well, my big friends headed for the restrooms while I waited outside.



Then across the bridge we went!  The bridge swayed gently as we walked across its 450 foot length, 230 feet above the Capilano River.



The bridge was orignally built in 1889.



We then went through the Treetops Adventure and the Cliffwalk.



Ah!  What a fun and exciting place!  We had a grand time!

Crabby crackers

Hidy-ho, awesome blog readers!  What have we got today?  Why, we have Wye River Crab Seasoned Crabbers! 



I found these white cheddar cheese crackers at Grocery Outlet.



These awesome little crab-shaped crackers were priced at a steal!



Once I got home, I opened up my box o' crackers.



After I opened the bag up, the crabs started crawling out!



I managed to catch some of them but they were quite large.



Some of them put up a fight and tried to pinch me with their cheesy little claws.  These crabs sure were crabby!  But I guess I can't blame them, seeing as they were cooped up in a box for so long.

Fortress by the sea Part II

At Fort Ross State Historic Park, I continued exploring the old buildings.



I tried out one of the beds to see how it felt.



It felt exactly like it looked: hard and uncomfortable.  I don't know how big peeps back in the day ever got a good night's sleep.



But enough with the hard, old beds!  Back outside I went!



I hiked down to the cove.



I spent some time climbing the rocks and enjoying the ocean.



Then I hiked over to the cemetery, the final resting place for 131 peeps who perished during the 30 years that the Russian-American Company operated the settlement.



The Russian-American Company sold Fort Ross to John Sutter in December 1841.



I had a rockin' good time at Fort Ross learning about California history!

Fortress by the sea Part I

I took a long drive to Fort Ross State Historic Park, which is located along the Pacific Coast and is one of the oldest California State parks.



"Welcome to Fort Ross," read the sign.  Why, thank you, I felt very welcome at Fort Ross! 



I stopped by the visitor center first and then headed outdoors to explore the grounds.



Fort Ross was established in 1812 by the Russian-American Company.



The settlement's name "Ross" came from "Rossiia" (Russia).



There were several buildings to explore.  Most of the buildings are reconstructed and not the originals, but they were still awesome!





Inside the blockhouse were cannons....



...and an awesome view of the Pacific Ocean!  Come back for Part II!

Breakfast beds

If you think breakfast in bed is fun, well...



...bed in breakfast is even more fun!



This is me trying out a French toast bed.  A bit heavy due to the egg coating but warm and cozy nonetheless!



A cheesy potato pancake.  A bit too greasy and crisp for a bed but makes for an okay seat!

 

On the other hand, omelets are better for leaning against due to their curved nature.



But biscuits.  Warm biscuits!



They make an awesome bed!  Soft, fluffy, and warm!  A dream bed come true!



Just make sure you're not eaten when you're having bed in someone else's breakfast.  That wouldn't be too awesome.

The great Golden Gate

Ah, the good ol' Golden Gate Bridge.  It costs money to drive across southbound, but it's free to walk across from either direction!



This awesome orange bridge was completed in 1937 and its towers are 746 feet tall.



Each of those awesome orange towers has over a million rivets.  Rivets rock!



I went to the visitor center and explored the outdoor exhibits.



After standing on models of the bridge...



...I stood on the real bridge!  Awesome!  



Later I climbed a ladder...



...and rode a boat!



Fun stuff!  I had a blast at the Golden Gate Bridge!

Man in the hole

In the hole of a doughnut, that is. 



Hooray for Krisy Kreme doughnuts!



Krispy Kreme Original Glazed Doughnuts are especially delicious when they're warm and fresh.



I bought myself two dozen doughnuts.



I managed to eat all but two of them.  I was so full that I fell asleep in the doughnut box.  They were awesome!
