Diggin' Malakoff Diggins Part V

In the awesome forest, I kept coming upon more mushrooms.

What a fantastic variety!

Mushrooms rock! And so does moss!

Up next will be the final pictures from my awesome visit to Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park.

Diggin' Malakoff Diggins Part IV

I went hiking through the awesome forest.

What a difference in environment.

It was damp, cool, and shady.

And there were marvelous mushrooms everywhere!

Big ones, small ones, brown ones, red and white ones.

I love mushrooms!

Diggin' Malakoff Diggins Part III

I continued hiking along the Diggins Trail.

There were fantastic views all around!

Such spiffy green trees!

There was even a small stream I had to cross.

And an area with tons of awesome ladybugs flying around.

Stay tuned for more pictures from this awesome state park!

Diggin' Malakoff Diggins Part II

After admiring the cool cabins and magnificent monitors, I walked down to the church and cemetery.

Then it was time for a hike!

The start of the Diggins trail was extremely rocky.

For big people who find it hard walking on rocks, all I can say is it's much more difficult for a little man.  But I got a fabulous workout!

The scenery was awesome.

Just look at these awesome mountains!  They are the result of hydraulic mining, which was actually very destructive to the environment.

Diggin' Malakoff Diggins Part I

I visited the awesome Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park.

It's located in Nevada City -- gold country!

The park has cabins that can be reserved by people who want to be amongst black bears.

And other old, ramshackle cabins.

I had an awesome time jumping in the leaf piles.

Malakoff Diggins is the site of California's largest hydraulic mine.

Hydraulic mining uses high-pressure jets of water to break up rock in the search for precious metal.  (My precious!)

This is a giant monitor and was used in hydraulic mining.

Brand new old jeans

Wowie, these Levi's jeans are big.

And old.  Yet brand new.

The labels on these jeans say "SINCE 1850" and "FOR OVER 110 YEARS" and include a 1966 copyright.

Jeans are awesome but I will forever wear spiffy yellow pants.

Fantastic Foreigner

Foreigner is awesome!

This CD is chock full of awesome songs like "Waiting for a Girl Like You" (I still haven't found my perfect SPL -- single plastic lady -- yet) and "Head Games".

They sure have big hair in the picture.  My awesome black hair will never grow as big as that because it's plastic.  Foreigner rocks!
