Discovering gold Part III

Sitting by a mining ditch.  Mining ditches carried the water needed for placer mining.

Nearby was James Marshall's cabin.  James Marshall was originally from New Jersey, and he was the one who discovered gold in 1848, spurring the California Gold Rush.

There was some awesome, rough-hewn wood furniture inside his cabin.  There was also a fire extinguisher by his bed.  His bed must be highly flammable.  Awesome!

Visiting one of the cemeteries.  Find me in the picture!

Back view of St. John's Church.

Sitting in a tree.  I had an awesome time climbing up it!

And the Marshall Monument.  It was awesome and huge!
