Big fun, little man Part II

At the California State Fair, I enjoyed the fruit and vegetable gardens.  The plants were growing awesomely well.  Look at this watermelon:

Then I headed to the county exhibits.  There are 58 counties in California.  Too bad they don't all participate.

Next, I wandered over to a Blue Diamond Almonds exhibit.  Almonds are awesome!

To conclude my awesome day at the fair, I indulged in some tasty fair food.

Chicken nachos.

And a Bucket O' Fries. I had a bucket o' big fun at the fair!

Big fun, little man Part I

I had a fabulous time at the California State Fair.  The theme this year was "the fun just got bigger".   Awesome!  The bigger, the better!

Sitting on a golden bear.  Bears are awesome!

In the Big Bugs exhibit.

This cool red ladybug was much larger than the one I encountered back in February.

Seeing these people with pins stuck in them brought back that nightmare of being pinned to a bulletin board so I hurriedly bid them adieu and went outside for some air.

Building a burger

At those custom built burger places, at least you don't literally have to put together your own burger.

Bun, lettuce, and meat patty complete with holes.  Ready to construct it!

Lifting the lettuce.

My finished burger: It was terribly tough and unsuitable for eating but made for an awesome, stylish seat!

Jumpin' jambalaya

I enjoy a bit of Creole food just like my mama used to make. Oh, silly me. I don't have a mother. I'm plastic. But I do like Creole food. Even when it's from a box.

Got my jambalaya mix and some sausage.

Plus a pot of water.

I chopped up the sausage and then tossed everything in the pot to mix.

It was almost like getting a steam bath, being so close to the heat while stirring my jambalaya.

Double, double, toil and trouble.  Fire burn and cauldron bubble. (Shakespeare rocks!)

No eye of newt here, though. Just some awesome rice, sausage, and seasonings.  Jambalaya here I come!

Squashed by a squash

One of my big friends is an awesome gardener and grew these fantabulous squash:

I'd also like to say that squash can be dangerous. Just a warning.

Mean kitty

I came across this apple tart.

And I decided to try it.

Hmm.  Seeds.  Then the chef came by.  I provided her with some constructive feedback: Perhaps next time she will core the apples first. And maybe cut the apples into pieces.

She only got mad and told me to back off from her apple tart as she plunked a Hello Kitty sign into it.

Danny's delicious donuts

I dropped by Danny's Mini Donuts in Old Sacramento to enjoy some of his "made hot on the spot" donuts.  They were delicious!  And Danny was awesome!

Gotta keep my awesome black hair in tip-top shape!

Food coma Part IV

The egg roll wasn't enough so I had a little bit more sushi first.

Then it was on to the fried banana.

And orange slices.

Then catching my breath.

Boy, was I stuffed. I walked out of there in a stupor.

Not far down the street, I soon had to take another breather and sat down on a bench.  It was a totally awesome meal.  I can't wait to have another one like it!

Food coma Part III

Dessert started off with a piece of cake.

Hmm.  Shoe prints.

I got some frosting on my awesome green shirt.  Good thing my clothes are plastic.  I simply wiped it off with a napkin.

To cleanse my palate between desserts, I then munched an egg roll.

Food coma Part II

After finishing my edamame, I dove into some other food.

And then, a quick nap under a blanket of fish to ready myself for more awesome food.  After all, I hadn't yet had dessert.

Food coma Part I

I started off my awesome meal at Fuji Buffet in Davis with some edamame, aka soybeans.

Little Man in a pod.

Sitting with my shelled soybeans.

Such awesome green color!

One by one, I gobbled them up.

Almost done and ready to move onto some other food.
