Cream of mushroom soup king

My big friend is a cream of mushroom soup king!

He made an awesome broccoli casserole, which used a can of cream of mushroom soup.

And he made baked pork chops in cream of mushroom soup.

Everything was piping hot and awesome!

I sliced my pork before eating it.  What an awesome, mushroom-y dinner!

Daimo dinner

For dinner I had an awesome meal at Daimo Chinese Restaurant in Richmond.

I sat on the black chopsticks and enjoyed some piping hot tea while waiting for the food to arrive.

Chicken, rice, and awesome green vegetables.

Fried squid with delicious bits of fried garlic and green onion.

And lastly, some tasty beef chow fun. Delicious!

Fab fort

I went to Fort Point National Historic Site, which is right next to the awesome Golden Gate Bridge.

The U.S. Army built the fort between 1853 and 1861.

The fort served to protect the San Francisco harbor from attack during and after the Civil War.

It was designated a national historic site in 1970. I'm sitting on the bench in this photo.

There were super awesome displays.  There was a document listing menus from 1880's U.S. Army cook book.  A sample supper menu consisted of dried fruit, stewed; coffee; and bread.

Stewed dried fruit doesn't sound very awesome.  But Fort Point was a totally awesome place!

Prodigious palace

Next in San Francisco was the Palace of Fine Arts.

Such an awesome palace -- such awesome architectural details!

Not so awesome was when someone almost stepped on me!

This lady was missing a big toe. That must have hurt.

Twins

I enjoyed awesome views of San Francisco from atop one of the Twin Peaks.

While on the hill, one of my big friends spied something he initially thought was a jalapeno pepper amongst the bushes.

It turned out to be a banana slug.   My big friend is so funny!

A bunch of brunch Part II

After polishing off my first plate of food at farmerbrown, I went and got seconds.

And then thirds.

After all, gotta have some fresh fruit to wash everything down.  Plus another dandy slice of bacon.

But... a fourth plate and some more yogurt can't hurt.  The food was incredibly awesome, after all.

Oh, boy, oh, boy.  I was so stuffed that when I went to take a sip of water, I accidentally fell into the glass.

I managed to climb out and laid down on my napkin for a while to recuperate before heading out to do some sightseeing.  Coming up next:  The awesome places I went sightseeing at.  Stay tuned!

A bunch of brunch Part I

I took a trip to the awesome Bay Area for some good food and sightseeing.

I rode the BART to a gritty part of San Francisco to have some grits (and other food) at farmerbrown.

I had the all-you-can-eat brunch.

I love all-you-can-eat places.

I don't care much for cucumber in my water, though.

The food was awesome!  Yogurt with granola, grits, banana bread, pancakes with syrup, bacon, scrambled eggs, potatoes, biscuits with gravy, and fried chicken -- I had some of everything.

Almost done with my first helping!

Osaka yeah! #2

I went back to Osaka-Ya and bought myself a dozen mochi.  Look at the cool yellow one with the green spot in the middle.

These Japanese treats taste awesome!

They look awesome, too.

Even the one that looks like it's covered in dirt.

Osaka yeah!

I heard of the delicious peanut butter mochi at Osaka-Ya on 10th Street.

So I went downtown and bought myself a package.

They sell plain peanut butter mochi and peanut butter mochi with chocolate chips.

I got the one with chocolate chips because chocolate chips are awesome.

There are four pieces in a pack.

The mochi was awesome and tasty!

I ate them all up. I should have bought more. I think I'll have to take another trip down there.

Call of the Wild Part IV

I went inside Jack London's cool cottage.

This was Jack's office.  He wrote and conducted business here.

Outside the cottage was a cool koi pond.

Then I wandered over to the Pig Palace.  Jack was also a farmer and raised animals, including pigs, chickens, and cattle.  The Pig Palace consisted of a circular layout of concrete pig pens with a feed tower in the middle.

Jack must have really loved pigs.  Well, I can understand -- pigs are awesome.  Pigs taste awesome, too!  There was a smokehouse a short distance behind the Pig Palace.

There were also silos.  These were used to store shredded corn stalks, which was fed to Jack's dairy cows.  The pigs got the corn.  Lucky pigs.  Jack sure was busy -- busy like Busy Buzzy, my big friends' favorite book character.  Jack London State Historic Park sure was awesome! You should visit it!

Call of the wild Part III

I wandered through the park.  There was lots of awesome stuff to see!

Resting on a wood bench along my way uphill to the lake that Jack London built.  It currently isn't much of a lake; there are fundraising efforts for its restoration.

At a vineyard.

Near the Old Winery ruins, which was damaged by the 1906 earthquake and later converted into living quarters by Jack and Charmian London for their workers and guests.  It was then destroyed by fire in 1965.

An awesome spineless cactus garden.  Jack had attempted to grow spineless cactus for cattle feed after seeing cattle in Hawaii living well on cactus with spines.  It wasn't successful, and these are not original plants from Jack's time.

Coming up next is Part IV, the last part!
