Grand gardens galore Part I

A trip to Victoria, BC, wouldn't be complete without a visit to the Butchart Gardens so off to the gardens my big friends and I went!

The gardens were started by Jennie Butchart in the early 1900's.

Her husband Robert extracted limestone deposits, leaving a big, empty quarry.

Jennie had the quarry lined with soil and started what would become the famous Sunken Garden.  Below is a view of the Sunken Garden behind me.  It was awesome!

There were awesome flowers everywhere!

Smelling one of those awesome flowers.

And... the Butcharts continued to create more awesome gardens through the years.  Come back for Part II and have an awesome night!

  1. Why can't you say you went with your friends rather than always specifying that your friends are "big." They must be super fat! Do you have any "small" friends?
