Diggin' Malakoff Diggins Part VI

After my awesome hike through the forest, I emerged into the awesome sunlight!

I trekked down the road.

I paased a cool lake.

Far down the road was the North Bloomfield drain tunnel.

The tunnel is 7,874 feet long and served as a drain for hydraulic mining efforts.  It was built between 1872 and 1874.

Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park sure was an awesome place! I highly recommend a visit!
